Good filtration, I guess February 18, 2010 Big Red (Spring, Texas) Based on the testing standards this filter is very good and the water tastes fine and it works well. The only thing that we don't like about it is the cheap water spout. The thing is so cheap and worthless that Culligan would be better off if they just lowered the price and left the faucet out of the package.
Great Water February 6, 2010 Bert Feddeck (Slidell, LA) Filter arrived as advertised. It was very easy to install. I did need to drill an extra hole in the sink because we have a soap dispenser. Plumbing was easy and all the needed fittings were supplied. The filter had a battery taped to it and no explanation in the instructions what to do with it. After some investigation I found a holder for it in the base of the faucet. I guess this is a reminder light for filter changes. The water taste great and so far no leaks or problems.
Great tasting, convenient, but slow flowing January 30, 2010 Nathanael R. Siders This is a really nice product. The water tastes great after being filtered through this system. We have extremely hard water where we live and after being filtered through this system, the water tastes better than any bottled water you'll find. We also hated the large units that attach to the faucet and this unit is very much less obtrusive and looks fancy by having a dedicated drinking faucet.
My only complaint would be how slow the water comes out of this unit. I would say it takes about 15 seconds to fill a glass of water. Now that's not long enough to be a complete nuisance, but just long enough to be a little annoying. Overall though, I'm happy with the unit, though if buying again, I might consider a unit that just filters all of the water coming from my main faucet.
Extremely Poor Quality Fixture January 24, 2010 Michael A. Fleming (Northern Virginia) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought 3 of these systems, one for my primary residence, one for my secondary and another for a family member. I am very handy and installation steps were easy. When I installed the first faucet the plastic stem broke while I was finger tightening the nut that secures it to the sink. I returned the broken one right away and Amazon gave me a replacement. I did sucessfully install one of the other faucets after being very cautious, not cause stress on the plastic stem. However, when I was able to install the other two,the same thing happened (valve stem broke while finger tightening) with the the remaining installations. The successfull install worked well and we really liked it until after 4-6 months of use. One night just before going to bed, the stem on the faucet spontaneously broke and we luckily detected it before going to bed. Water went everywhere, behind cabinetry and into the lower level of our house. We spent hours cleaning up the water. I am extremely frustrated and hope that Culligan will stand behind their product. Culligan should not sell this system with such an inferior fixture. I would have purchased another system at a higher price if I knew this would happen. Since several months have passed I can't rerurn these to Amazon and now I am the owner of three inoperable Cullligan systems!
Decent system at a decent price December 3, 2009 Spruce Moose 1285 Shortly after moving to a small, rural town we received a mandatory notice from the water company stating that they were in violation of some EPA mandate. So, we began looking into water filters. We originally went with one of those faucet-mounted type filters. For whatever reason our water was really hard on those particular filters--after about a week the water flow became very weak and we had to replace the filter every 3 weeks or so (for 2 people that seemed like a lot). That got old quickly and after doing some research, we decided to replace our faucet-mounted filter with the Culligan Level 4 system. It's been a little over a year since we bought the system and overall I am pleased with it. It was fairly easy to install (and I'm no plumber) and we now replace filters every six months or so. The only drawback is the plastic faucet that comes with this kit. We were actually able to install the faucet without any problems, but it broke after 8-9 months. We replaced it with a model we found at our local hardware store and haven't had any problems since.
